Home Information Packs (HIPS)
HIPs have been something of a controversial issue but they are now here and compulsory on all homes. They are designed to speed up the home buying process and the seller has to get one before they can put the property on the market.
The problem is, if you decide to take out a HIP through your estate agent, you may find that you cannot transfer the HIP if you need to move agents. You may also find that if it takes longer than 3 months to sell your home, some elements of the pack may need to be renewed at a further cost to the seller.
